The Mayer Family

I guess it is time for us to join the blog world finally. We've been avoiding it as long as possible but I guess it's time for us to join in.

Conference 06 is now over. It was an extremely busy but rewarding weekend. It was so good to catch up with many friends and many of the sessions that I (Kevin) attended were very enriching and powerful. I especially enjoyed Stan Shirk's talks at the men's sessions. His openess and vulnerablity was used greatly by God and were especially meaningful to me as he talked about how sometimes our greatest growth spiritually happens during the toughest times. I just came across a quote this morning by C.S. Lewis that ties in great with this theme: "God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain. It is a megaphone to arouse a deaf world."

Wow, ain't that the truth!
