Feliz Navidad
Merry Christmas to everyone! We have been enjoying spending some time with my family in Delaware. We left Ohio the Thursday before Christmas and stopped in PA to visit Nathan & Grace Yoder and family. They served us a great meal and Evan loved playing “boy stuff” with their boys. We arrived at Grandpa & Grandma Byler’s house on Friday towing kids with coughs. Ellie also struggled with a fever all weekend. We were thankful that she seemed a lot better on Christmas day. Evan & Ellie of course had a blast opening gifts, and it seemed like a “Cars” Christmas for Evan. He got the movie as well as lots of Cars stuff, and was thrilled!

When we get back to Ohio we will be hitting the packing hard. Our renters plan to move in by February 1, so we have a lot of packing, sorting, tossing, giving and hopefully not too much crying to do! We have applied for and will be waiting for our Visas to come. We drove to the Spanish Consulate in Chicago to apply, and received a very vague answer on the time frame for getting the Visas. So it sounds like it could be 1-3 months until they arrive. We are asking God for things to happen in his timing and are grateful that he is in control and knows what is best, even if the best may not be pleasant or perfect. When we move out of our house at the end of January, where we go depends on when we get our Visas. We may go to Spain towards the beginning of February, or we may be spending some time with our families, or even rent an apartment if needed.
This weekend we saw the Nativity movie. It was a great movie and brought our focus to Jesus. Kevin and I both cried through parts of the movie realizing again the great gift he has given us. I was impressed too with the ordinary and even unlikely people God chose to use. My mind gets very foggy with everything in my world and I feel myself going through the day without focus or true meaning. I want my eyes to stay focused on Jesus and eternity. I just started reading “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn after Kevin has been telling me for awhile what a great book it is. So I’m excited about starting off a new year focusing on Heaven and what eternity will be like!
